OneChocolate Loves… November

Our French office has provided this month’s roundup of inspiring PR and digital marketing campaigns, smart new tech and cool events…

#1 YouTube Kids lands in France

Available since 2015 in the United States, the YouTube Kids app has finally arrived in France this month. The platform uses a specific filter catered to keeping the content child-friendly. It also features a playful design and enhanced parental control. Good news for families before the Christmas holidays!

#2 The mountain heads to town

If you can’t go to the mountain, bring the mountain to you! Well this wish was answered mid-November in Paris where an ephemeral ski resort came to life for its residents. The programme for this four-day event included tartiflette, cross-country skiing, sledging and an ice sculpture. An all-round great way to promote skiing holidays and revitalise tourism… Hmm… mouth-watering!

#3 Text Burger to 31 005

For all those longing to find out who their secret crush is, or what their star sign may be, Burger King can help you out. The fast-food chain has launched a national campaign where customers can text Burger to 31 005 to a host of wild questions. It all stems from a study that found between 25-35% of French people consult a clairvoyant at least once a year!

#4 Scarlett distributes gourmet popcorn in Paris

American actress Scarlett Johansson organised a launch event in October for the opening of her own popcorn shop, Yummy Pop, at the very heart of trendy Le Marais. Eager shoppers queued for hours hoping to get a glimpse of the Hollywood star and to test her gourmet snack. This signals Scarlett’s latest career move, focused on boosting the popularity of this American snack in the French market.

#5 Christmas is coming… Let the lights contest begin!

Telecoms giant Orange revealed ‘Big Noel’, its Christmas TV ad campaign this month. Produced by Publicis Conseil, the TV spot contains all the Christmas magic needed for an advert, to the soundtrack of 1980s hits. And we love it!

#6 Insure your Mo-stash

French insurance company, Assu 2000, has kicked off Movember by giving its male clients the chance to insure their moustache! That’s right, and the firm will be donating all the proceeds to the Movember Foundation to tackle men’s mental health and support research into testicular and prostate cancer. Assu 2000 extended the idea to a triple insurance offer, depending on each customer’s needs and erm… hairiness. Well done!
